Since May 2009 temporary disability reports can be transmitted on an electronic way between doctors and hospitals. The so called electronic disability report (eAUM) comprises the electronic data entry, the transmission of data to social insurance institutions and an Austria-wide standardized form which can be printed by the doctor for the patient. The advantages are a fast and secure process without losing time, a reduction of administration effort and a standardized form for all patients and employers.
